As a student, you might not have a lot of money to spend. You have to pay for rent, food, school essentials, and for some, even your own school fees. So when it comes to phone plans, you don’t really have the same luxury as others. But the good news is that T-Mobile just announced three student plans that could be worth checking out.
T-Mobile launches three student plans
According to T-Mobile, these are the three student plans that you can choose from. This includes the basic Essentials Saver, which starts at $60 a month for two phone lines (or $30 for a single line). You get unlimited talk and text and 50GB of “premium” data. It’s simple and straightforward for customers who just need a line to make calls and go on the internet.
But if you think you can afford to spend a bit more, there’s the Experience More plan. This starts at $110 a month for two lines (or $65 for a single line). You get unlimited data, a 5-year price guarantee, and 60GB of mobile hotspot data. There’s also unlimited text and 15GB of data when you go to Canada and/or Mexico.
There are additional perks, such as Netflix with ads that you will get for free. Customers can also add an extra $3 a month for Apple TV.
Last but not least is the Experience Beyond plan. This is T-Mobile’s most expensive student plan at $130 a month for two lines (or $80 for a single line). You can get all the perks of the Experience More plan, with the addition of T-Satellite support, a free Hulu subscription, unlimited mobile hotspot, and 30GB of data when roaming in Canada and/or Mexico. You can also add extra lines for your smartwatch or tablet at $5 a month.
Does this include phone deals?
If you’re looking to get a new phone with your plan, then this is something to take note of. Right now, T-Mobile’s Experience Beyond plan for non-student subscribers will give customers up to $1,100 off when they trade in an old phone for a new one.
But as The Mobile Report notes, these trade-in values are lowered for the carrier’s discounted plans. For example, Experience Beyond 55+, First Responder, or Military will only get up to $900 off. While the website does not mention the new student plans, presumably it should be given the same treatment.
