Android 17-based One UI 9.0 update started rolling out to the Samsung Galaxy A57 days ago. Not long after that, people started having issues; it seems some reports surfaced online.
Some Galaxy A57 users are experiencing a boot issue following One UI 9 update
This One UI 9.0 update is causing a boot issue for Galaxy A57 users, it would seem. Some phones are struggling to boot up, though the issue seems to be limited to South Korea. It’s possible that the update didn’t even start rolling out elsewhere just yet.
The phone is called Galaxy Quantum 7 in Korea, and the issues have been shared via both X and Reddit. This issue seems to be tied to an XML file error. Phones that are affected get stuck showing an error screen, sometimes the ‘Access Denied’ prompt.

There were also cases where phones show just a raw XML document, and they are unable to get past the One UI 9.0 intro or setup screens. It doesn’t seem to be happening to everyone, though.
There is a workaround
If you haven’t updated yet, it may be wise to wait. There is a temporary workaround, though, it seems, just in case you’re stuck in the loop.
You’ll need to hold the power and volume down buttons together until the power menu pops up. Then, long-press the power off option until the Safe Mode prompt appears.
At that point, tap Safe Mode, and the phone will restart. Once you’re in Safe Mode, you’ll need to restart the phone normally, and it should work just fine.
Quite a few people mentioned that this process managed to get their phone back after they did it just once. Things could be different for you, though, of course. Let’s hope Samsung will resolve this quickly.
