Snap is giving its popular social media platform, Snapchat, a new way to turn casual conversations into real-world get-togethers. The tech giant has added a new feature called Snapchat Plans to make event planning easier for groups of friends. The tool lets users send event invites, track dates and attendees, and manage everything about the event in one place.
Snapchat Plans makes event planning and organizing easier for its users
Due to its name, some might confuse the new feature with a paid subscription plan. But worry not, it’s just a feature, and access is free as of today. While introducing the feature, Snap said that most events emerge from one simple thing: a conversation. A conversation turns into an idea, and the same idea later turns into a get-together. Snapchat Plans is built to simplify the process for its users.
Snapchat Plans allows its users to create, share, and manage gatherings with friends. Users can send and receive invitations, keep track of important stuff like event timing and attendees. They can also access all the events and related information on a single page. That’s not all; the company is also developing a new addition that will allow users to create events directly from a chat.
Creating and managing invites are no longer a worry
Snap has designed the feature to be intuitive and easy to understand. Creating an event takes only a few steps. Users can give an event a title, choose its date and time, and invite up to 200 friends. To personalize the invite, users can also add dynamic Bitmoji-powered cover art, which changes as the plan takes shape. Moreover, invitations can be sent directly in one-on-one chat.
Guests receiving an invite can respond with Going, Maybe, or Can’t Go. Privacy is another highlighted part of the feature. Snap claims the events are private and invite-only. Event details stay between the people who have been invited.
