Good Lock modules on Samsung phones are a good way to customize and add some extra functionality. Like the network speed indicator. There are various options to tweak almost every part of the UI. While that’s usually a good thing for those into customization, it seems one particular module is not sitting right. If you use Galaxy Buds with your Galaxy phone, it seems to be a good idea to stay away from the RegiStar Good Lock module. For now, at least.
Good Lock’s RegiStar module bug reportedly makes the Galaxy Buds shortcut disappear
Before we get to the bug, RegiStar is a Good Lock module that allows you to play around with the Settings on your Galaxy phone. You can reorganize them to your liking, set up back-tap gestures, and also customize what the power button does when held down. While it sounds convenient, a bug is reportedly removing a useful functionality within the Settings menu of your Galaxy phone.
For context, when you connect a pair of Samsung earbuds to your Galaxy phone or tablet, a shortcut to their respective controls page appears at the top of the Settings menu. This will save you the effort of digging through multiple menus to find the relevant settings of the earbuds.
A fix is coming, but not so soon
However, it appears that for those using RegiStar, the functionality seems to be broken. A user on the Samsung forums has reported that using the RegiStar Good Lock module is causing the Galaxy Buds shortcut to disappear from the top of Settings. The option is visible in RegiStar’s settings but not in Settings once its setup is complete.
Interestingly, it’s not the same for everyone. Another user reports that the shortcut now appears at the bottom of the Settings page, instead of at the top. While that’s unfortunate, the good news is that a Community moderator has acknowledged this. They confirmed that a fix will arrive with the One UI 9 update. It will debut on July 22nd, but the availability will vary.
