Samsung is on a roll (quite literally) with its stable One UI 8.5 rollout. After pushing it to flagships, foldables, and even some mid-range models, the tech giant is now opening the gates for its tablets. As you’d expect, the first batch of tablets to receive the One UI 8.5 stable update are the flagship Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra.
Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra tablets are now receiving the stable One UI 8.5 update
As with most updates from Samsung, the rollout begins in its home country, South Korea. That said, it should start rolling out to other regions globally in the next few days, if not a couple of weeks. The update to the standard Galaxy Tab S11 carries the firmware version X736NKOU5BZE3, and that for the Ultra model is X936NKOU5BZE3. With the stable rollout, the beta testing finally comes to an end.
If you don’t see the update notification, you can check for it manually on your Galaxy Tab S11 series. Head over to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Since it’s a major update, ensure your battery is at least 30% charged during installation. It’s also a good idea to connect to a stable Wi-Fi network.
The update is currently live in South Korea, but should expand shortly
Though it’s based on Android 16 QPR2, One UI 8.5 brings a whole lot of new features, improvements, and more. The most notable inclusion is the support for Apple AirDrop in Quick Share. This allows you to transfer files wirelessly without relying on any third-party app. The Quick Settings panel is now more customizable. You can add/remove any shortcut, change the layout of brightness and volume sliders, and even resize toggles.
One UI 8.5 also brings home and lock screen customizations. The clock widget on the lock screen now dynamically adjusts the shape based on the wallpaper. It even brings an upgraded Bixby experience, which can now understand complex natural-language queries. There’s Storage Share to easily access files across all your Samsung devices through the file manager.
