The Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 series is coming; it’s official. All we had thus far were rumors, and yes, the tablets were expected to arrive, but now we got a confirmation straight from the horse’s mouth.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 series has been officially confirmed
Samsung’s executive, Daniel Araujo, confirmed that the Galaxy Tab S12 series is coming during the company’s Q3 earnings call. This confirmation came as part of a response to Samsung Mobile’s financial difficulties during RAMageddon. As some of you already know, Samsung’s mobile unit has experienced its first-ever operating loss.
“To manage this (financial difficulty), we’re focused on maintaining strong sales momentum of the S26 series, while ensuring the successful launch of new premium products coming out in the second half, such as the new foldable series, Tab S12, and Watch Ultra 2,” said Daniel Araujo, clearly confirming the arrival of the Galaxy Tab S12.
This was much expected, as Samsung launches its new flagship tablet family every year. Well, in the second half of every year, and it has been doing that since the Galaxy Tab S9 in 2023. So it was safe to assume that the same will happen this year.
Samsung will likely aim for an IFA timeframe in September
What we do know is when exactly the tablets are coming. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 was announced in early September, so it’s possible Samsung will aim for a similar time frame this time around. That’s basically the IFA timeframe.
The Samsung Galaxy S12+ was spotted at the FCC recently, while the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra cleared the BIS certification. The ‘Plus’ model also appeared in live images, while the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra was spotted in CAD-based renders.
MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chip is expected to fuel the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, while Samsung will likely use 12GB of RAM, though a 16GB RAM possibility is still there. An 11,600mAh battery will be included, along with 45W charging.
