A bunch of Samsung’s smartphones are now getting their second April 2026 update in the US. The devices in question are the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5.
9 Samsung phones in the US are getting a second April 2026 update
It is quite unusual that phones get two security updates in the same month, but there you go. The changelog still suggests that the update brings the April 2026 Android security patch, which the devices already received via the previous update.
This update probably delivers some additional security fixes, or perhaps some bug fixes that could not wait for next month’s update. That is almost certainly the case, but we’re not sure what exactly at this point in time.
So, just to be clear, a total of 9 smartphones are getting this update as we speak. That includes the Galaxy S26, S26+, S26 Ultra, S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, S25 Edge, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5.
As is usually the case, this update is rolling out in stages. You can try to speed up the process by going to Settings -> Software update -> Download and install, but there’s a good chance you’ll have to wait regardless.
The April 2026 update delivers 47 security fixes
The initial update for April 2026 brought over 47 security fixes, and no new features or bug fixes, at least none were mentioned. Out of those 47 fixes, 33 were provided by Google, while the remaining 14 came from Samsung. 14 of all those fixes have been marked as ‘critical’. In other words, their importance is quite high.
That update started rolling out earlier this month, and it spread across the globe rather fast. Chances are that all owners of the aforementioned smartphones already have access to it. Some will get both of these updates to install.
