The Samsung Galaxy S27 series is coming early next year, and the base model in that lineup is the one we’ll talk about here. It will be called the Samsung Galaxy S27, and it will also be the smallest out of all devices in the series. At the same time, it will be the cheapest phone in the series, even though it will not be cheap, of course. This is a flagship smartphone series we’re talking about.
In this article, we’ll try to give you a good idea of what’s coming and what the device will end up offering. Quite a few rumors/leaks surfaced thus far, so we’ll base the information provided on that. We’ll talk about the phone’s design, specs, price, launch timeframe, and more. We will also keep the article updated, and it should become more and more accurate as we get closer to launch.
This article will be regularly updated with new information on the Samsung Galaxy S27 (this is a preview article) — both official teasers and credible leaks, rumors, and insider claims — as it becomes available in the run-up to the release of the upcoming Android smartphone. When will the Samsung Galaxy S27 be released?
The Samsung Galaxy S27 will become official in the first quarter of next year. The Galaxy S26 series arrived towards the end of February 2026, while the Galaxy S25 lineup launched towards the end of January 2025. Based on the company’s past launches, the Galaxy S27 will arrive either in January or February; it’s anyone’s guess at this point in time. We’re expecting more info to surface in the near future.
What models are coming?
Samsung will announce four Galaxy S27 devices. The Galaxy S27 will be backed by the Galaxy S27+, Galaxy S27 Pro, and Galaxy S27 Ultra. As far as the Galaxy S27 alone is concerned, that phone will likely arrive in several storage options, but all of them will end up offering 12GB of RAM. Storage options did not leak out just yet, but if we had to guess, we’d say 256GB and 512GB options will be on offer, though a 128GB storage variant is a possibility. Samsung may not to use LPDDR6 and UFS 5.0, though.
How much will the Samsung Galaxy S27 cost?
The Samsung Galaxy S27’s price tag has not leaked out just yet; it’s still a bit early. What we do expect, however, is a price bump. The Galaxy S26 was priced at $899.99 at launch, and that is expected to go up. Memory and storage prices have been increasing constantly; that’s the main reason why. We do expect the Galaxy S27 to start at $100 more, so it could cost $999.99. That’s just an educated guess at this point. We’re talking about the 128GB or 256GB storage model here, though. Samsung could opt to stick with the 128GB storage model due to memory prices and so that it doesn’t have to bump up the price as much.
What will the Samsung Galaxy S27 look like?
This is still a complete mystery at this point. At the time of writing this, we were still about half a year away from the launch, so it’s no wonder we did not see anything regarding the phone’s design. We will update this section when the time comes. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if Samsung decides not to make massive changes to the design once again. It’s true that the company kept this design for quite some time, but it’s quite recognizable – Samsung. So I wouldn’t be surprised.
On top of that, the company did not really mess with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra’s and Galaxy Z Flip 8’s design either, they look much like their predecessors. That’s not to say that the Galaxy S27 won’t usher in a new design language for Samsung, but, for the time being, it doesn’t look like it. What’s almost certain is that the phone will have a flat display with a centered display camera hole up top. It will also have a flat frame, almost certainly.
One thing that Samsung could change is the rear camera setup. There will be some changes to the internal cameras, so the camera island could get a revamp as well. The one that Samsung has been using for years works, but it does make the phones wobble, so… Samsung may end up changing that. We’re also quite certain that the company will once again use aluminum and glass to build the device, even though nothing leaked regarding that. This phone will be rather compact yet again.
What specs will the Samsung Galaxy S27 have?
The Samsung Galaxy S26 ended up arriving in two SoC variants. In Europe, it used the Exynos 2600, while in the US, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy was used. The same fate is likely waiting for the Galaxy S27. The Galaxy S27 Pro was mentioned in that context, we still don’t have any information regarding the Galaxy S27, but it only makes sense if the ‘Pro’ model will follow that logic.
That means that the upcoming Exynos 2700 will fuel the Galaxy S27 in some regions, while the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro will do the same in other regions. A rumor did note that Samsung will likely avoid using LPDDR6 and UFS 5.0 in the upcoming phones. That means that the Galaxy S27 will probably end up with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 or UFS 4.1 flash storage. We’re expecting to see 12GB of RAM and 256GB and 512GB storage options. It’s about time for Samsung to ditch the 128GB option, though with the RAM shortage, who knows.
The Galaxy S27 is also expected to get a little bit of silicon-carbon thrown into its Li-Ion battery mix, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series. That would mean a slight battery capacity bump for the phone. A 14% battery capacity increase is rumored. That means that a 4,900mAh battery could be included in the device. We’re hoping that Samsung will also increase charging speed from 25W to 45W on the phone, but that’s just wishful thinking at this point.
Samsung is allegedly testing a new main camera for the Galaxy S27. All we know thus far is that a Sony camera is being tested, so Samsung could ditch its long-standing ISOCELL history and use a Sony sensor on the main camera here. We are hoping that the company will also ditch that tiny telephoto camera sensor, but there’s no information regarding that at this point. Android 17 will come pre-installed, with One UI 9 on top of it.
Should you wait to buy the Samsung Galaxy S27?
It’s way too early to say whether the Galaxy S27 will be worth it. We still don’t have enough information to be able to make such comments; the launch event is not exactly close by. We’ll continue updating the article, and hopefully get a clearer picture of what’s coming in the near future.
