Samsung is on a roll, as it has just rolled out a new software update to a bunch of its Galaxy devices. This brings the April 2026 security update to its foldables and tablets, including the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4, and the Galaxy Tab S10 series. This update brings fixes to 47 security issues present in the previous version of the OS, making the devices more secure now.
Samsung pushes April security update to Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5, Fold 4, Flip 4, and Tab S10 series
The April security update, at the moment, is rolling out in the home country, South Korea. However, it should expand to more regions in the next few days, if not weeks. You should see a notification once it becomes available in your region. Alternatively, you can also check for the update by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install.Â
The update to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 carries the firmware versions:Â F946NKSS6FZCS and F731NKSS6FZCS, respectively. Meanwhile, the firmware versions for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 are: F936NKSS7IZCS and F721NKSS7IZCS. Lastly, the firmware versions for the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and Tab S10+ are X926NKOS7CZD3 and X826NKOS7CZD3.
Currently rolling out in South Korea
Unlike the major OS updates, this strictly focuses on improving device security. This means there won’t be any new features. Samsung’s April 2026 security update brings 47 fixes in total, of which 33 fixes are from Google as a part of the Android Security Bulletin for April 2026. The remaining 10 are from Samsung Mobile, and 4 come from Samsung Semiconductor. Some of these are marked as high-severity, and some as moderate.Â
This comes after Samsung recently released the One UI 8.5 beta, based on Android 16 QPR2, for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5. This allows users to try the new OS with a redesigned UI and additional features before the stable release. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 are eligible to receive the One UI 8.5 update. But the beta program has not been extended for these models.
