REDMAGIC has now officially revealed the Astra 2, or at least it’s confirmed that the tablet exists and that ‘Astra 2’ is the official name of its next global tablet. Much like the original Astra was for the REDMAGIC Gaming Tablet 3 Pro, the Astra 2 is the global version of the Gaming Tablet 5 Pro that releases in China on June 30. It’s the same tablet, but with a different name for global regions.
That means it’ll come with the same specs and the same design. It’ll also be coming to the US just like the original Astra, and likely at a similar price point. The big deal here is that this is REDMAGIC’s first tablet with liquid cooling. After launching the REDMAGIC 11 Pro, which was its first gaming phone to offer liquid cooling, rumors started to surface that it would be bringing that tech to its tablets. It also then launched the REDMAGIC 11s Pro, which has it as well.

REDMAGIC hasn’t revealed the price or release date of the Astra 2 yet
So far, there is no price or release date for the Astra 2. REDMAGIC has only teased the tablet’s upcoming arrival for the global launch. The company says that it’s “coming soon,” but mentions nothing else beyond that, giving no specifics in terms of a date or a cost.
It has also, interestingly, not shown off the tablet’s design, other than the blue line on the back that is either the tablet’s liquid cooling system or a set of RGB LEDs. This the same design as the REDMAGIC Gaming Tablet 5 Pro, which the company has shown off in full already. So, it’s just interesting that it felt the need to keep the full design hidden here when it’s clearly the same tablet.
The REDMAGIC Astra 2 will come powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, with 8,300mAh capacity battery and a sizeable 9.06-inch OLED display for gaming.
