We’ve seen plenty of OnePlus 16 rumors up to now, but nothing compares to this one. One of the best-known tipsters around has shared what is essentially a detailed spec sheet of the OnePlus 16.
This information comes from Digital Chat Station, who shared it via Weibo. So, without further ado, let’s see what the tipster has to say.
The OnePlus 16 will feature BOE’s X4 display and up to 185Hz refresh rate
The OnePlus 16 will feature the BOE X4 display. It will offer a general 165Hz refresh rate, which will go up to 185Hz for games that support it. So 185Hz is peak, basically, but you won’t get it during normal use, as there’s no point.
A 9,000mAh battery will be part of the package as well; that will be a dual-cell battery. The phone will support 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. 5G will be supported as well, of course.
A much-improved triple camera setup will also be a part of the package
A 200-megapixel main camera will sit on the back of the phone, and it will offer a 1/1.4-inch sensor size. I twill be backed by a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, with a 1/1.95-inch sensor size. The last camera on the back will be a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro will fuel the device; that is the company’s upcoming 2nm chip. The Adreno 850 GPU will be part of the package as well. And last but not least, Android 17-based ColorOS 17, which was announced today, will be included.
The phone will not be available in the US or Europe
This smartphone will not be available in the US or Europe, unfortunately. OnePlus decided to close up shop in those regions, but it is expected to make its way to India and some other markets.
We’re expecting this phone to launch in October, though we’re only guessing based on last year’s launch timeframe.
