According to newly released information, the OnePlus 16 could have extremely thin bezels and even break records in that regard. The information comes from Digital Chat Station, one of the most reliable tipsters around.
The OnePlus 16 could feature the thinnest bezels in the market
While he did share some other info we’ll talk about, let’s focus on the bezels first. The tipster claims that the bezels on this phone will measure under 1mm on every side. They’ll be uniform. The OnePlus 15’s bezels, for comparison’s sake, are 1.15mm thick, which is immensely thin. The OnePlus 16 is said to undercut that.
Just for comparison’s sake, the bezels around the iPhone 17 Pro Max’s display are said to measure 2.5mm in terms of thickness. It cannot compare to the OnePlus 15, and the OnePlus 16 will push things to a whole new level.
Furthermore, the tipster confirmed that the phone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor. That is Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship chip. A 6.78-inch 1.5K BOE display was also mentioned. The tipster claims that OnePlus is currently testing an 185Hz refresh rate on that panel; we’ll see if that ends up being available in the final model.
The device is expected to arrive in Q4 2026
The OnePlus 16, as many of you know, is expected to arrive in Q4 this year. We’re not sure if it will be making its way to Europe and the US, as OnePlus has been doing some restructuring, and quite a few people have seemingly been laid off in both markets.
Reports of the company leaving certain markets have also started popping up in the past. We’re hoping that the OnePlus 16 will make its way to all those markets, but it remains to be seen. By the looks of it, it will be an immensely capable device. We’ve had a great experience with the OnePlus 15, and this phone will improve upon that device’s main drawback, the camera system. It will also bring a number of other benefits, it would seem.
