Samsung seems to be looking to add another rather useful accessibility feature to One UI 9. One UI 9 could let you set custom zoom levels for individual apps in the near future.
At the moment, there are a ton of accessibility features in One UI 9 that help improve visibility. That includes zooming, enlarging specific areas of the screen, or expanding text.
One UI 9 will soon let you control zoom levels on an app-by-app basis
Well, references for this new, aforementioned feature have been found in One UI 9 on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. Android Authority spotted the references, as the App screen zoom feature seems to be on the way.
The upcoming options include Large, Largest, Medium, Small, Smallest, and System settings. Needless to say, once you set a screen zoom level for a specific app, changing the system screen zoom level won’t affect that setting. It overrides the global system setting.
Just to be clear, while references for this feature have been found in One UI 9 that is installed on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, the feature itself is not there yet. We’re not sure when it’s coming, but it’s possible it will come with a final retail update.
This feature could be coming sooner than you think
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra models that reviewers are now running are pre-release models. They can run benchmarking apps at the moment, and it’s possible some features are missing, such as this custom zoom level one.
Then again, this could be a feature Samsung plans to add later on. We cannot be sure. The point is, it’s coming, as the proof is there.
We recently talked about another One UI 9 feature that has been added with the new foldables, though that one is already available. Samsung added a built-in Google Search bar option/setting in One UI 9.
