Sony’s new flagship smartphone will become official tomorrow. As we’re waiting for that to happen, more information surfaced, including the best look at the phone thus far. The device just surfaced in renders that show all of its color options.
The Sony Xperia 1 VIII just surfaced in official renders, showing its colors
We’ve recently seen four alleged colors of the phone, in a single image, and the phone’s CAD-based renders. Well, this time around, three colors are shown, and each is represented in a separate render. These are seemingly official renders too. You can check them out below, courtesy of WinFuture.
These three colors are called Graphite Black, Iolite Silver, and Garnet Red, respectively. The Native Gold color is also rumored, but it’s not mentioned here, so it’s possible it won’t reach global markets. We’ll see.
The Garnet Red is easily the most striking color out of these three, though it won’t be everyone’s favorite, of course. Sony redesigned the rear camera setup here, but the overall design did not change much.
Top and bottom bezels are still thicker than the side ones, for a reason
The phone still has top and bottom bezels that are thicker than the side ones, and that’s because Sony still refuses to use a camera hole. The front-facing camera is located in the top bezel.
The display is flat, as is the phone’s backplate and the frame. The corners are rounded, though. On the right side, you’ll find the power/lock key, which doubles as a fingerprint scanner. The volume up and down keys are also located there, as is a camera shutter key. There are no buttons on the left side.
On the back, you’ll notice a square camera island with three cameras, laid out in two rows. ZEISS will once again be a part of the offering here, and the phone is rumored to get a massively improved periscope telephoto camera.
