Samsung is getting ready to drop the Galaxy Tab S12 series in a matter of weeks, but regional retailers are already jumping the gun. Early product images from a store catalog in Southeast Asia just exposed the Galaxy Tab S12+ official Book Cover cases in Black and White, giving us a full preview of what to expect before Samsung even takes the stage. This report comes shortly after another one showing renders of the Slim and Pro Keyboards.
If you have used a Galaxy Tab in recent years, the hardware design will feel instantly familiar. Samsung isn’t reinventing anything here. The magnetic folio attaches directly to the back panel of the tablet and wraps neatly around the front to protect the display, complete with auto wake-and-sleep functionality as soon as you flip the cover open or shut.
The origami stand returns, but so does the S Pen problem
The renders where spotted and shared first by SammyGuru. The cleverest part of this cover remains its front flap, which folds up origami-style to create a rigid kickstand. You can prop the screen up in either landscape or portrait mode. This makes it super convenient for watching movies, reading through long articles, or typing up a quick document at your desk without carrying extra gear.
The downside? Samsung still hasn’t added a dedicated internal slot or secure pocket for the S Pen inside the case. Instead, the stylus relies entirely on external magnets along the side frame or back strip of the tablet. It works fine for quick access, but it leaves the pen exposed to getting accidentally knocked off when tossing the tablet into a bag.
A quick look at the specs under the hood
The accessory leak also lines up nicely with what we already know about the hardware inside. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+ is set to pack a crisp 12.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel running at 120Hz, alongside a massive 10,600mAh battery. Under the hood, both the Tab S12+ and the top-tier Tab S12 Ultra are expected to run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 processor with Samsung’s latest One UI 9 skin right out of the box.
