After see sawing back and forth between a dual-chip strategy and a single-chip strategy for the Galaxy S27 Ultra, we’re back on the latter thanks to a new rumor. A report by Lanzuk claims that the Galaxy S27 Ultra will not use the Exynos 2700 at all; it will exclusively utilize Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chip.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra will not utilize Exynos 2700 after all, it seems
To be more accurate, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series chip will fuel the phone globally and exclusively, if this report is accurate. Even though the Exynos 2700 is looking to be a powerhouse, the company will not use it in its most powerful phone.
The Exynos 2700 will still be used in the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, and Galaxy S27 Pro, though not everywhere. That chip is expected to be used in most markets in Europe, Asia, and Africa, but not in the US. That’s where Samsung will opt for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series chip.
That still means that many of the Galaxy S27 series devices will utilize Samsung’s new Exynos chip, though. It will be a 2nm processor, by the way, the second one built on the company’s 2nm foundry process.
The Exynos 2700 is coming with improved power efficiency and general performance
The Exynos 2700 has not been announced yet, but it’s expected to offer improved power efficiency, along with a general performance upgrade.
The Samsung Galaxy S27 series is expected to arrive in Q1 2027. All four phones will most likely launch in January of February, as those are the two launch months Samsung has been utilizing for years. So it’ll likely be one or the other.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra will debut the new camera plateau on the back, along with the Galaxy S27 Pro. The other two phones will retain basically the same design as their predecessors.
