Motorola is picking up real momentum with software updates. Following early releases for devices like the Motorola Signature, Edge 70, and Edge 70 Fusion, the company is now expanding its Android 17 beta program to the Moto Edge 60 Pro across India and Brazil. Community forum testers who downloaded the hefty 4.91GB firmware build are already sharing a closer look at what Motorola’s refreshed software experience feels like.
Centered Live Updates and a fresh AI rebrand
The headline visual change centers around notifications. Motorola shifted its status bar “Live Updates” pill from the left corner directly over the middle selfie camera cutout, mirroring Apple’s Dynamic Island setup.
According to community tester Fanboy_Moto on X, the animation still feels a bit unpolished—apps minimize toward the bottom navigation area while the notification pill pops up separately at the top. However, it gives live tasks like music and timer tracking a far cleaner focal point.
Artificial intelligence also gets a full makeover. Motorola rebranded its Moto AI suite to “Qira AI,” grouping smart features under a unified assistant layout.
Early testers on Reddit also spotted significantly punchier haptic feedback, customizable lock screens, resizable quick settings tiles, and horizontal status bar icons that closely resemble Google’s clean Pixel UI interface (via Android Authority).
HelloUI drawer refinements and Pixel-style controls
Over in the HelloUI launcher, the app drawer receives several practical organization upgrades. Folder layouts upgrade from a compact 2×2 grid to a roomier 3×3 layout, accompanied by enhanced background blur effects and universal icon tinting that brings a unified look across third-party apps. Volume controls now adopt a thick, rectangular Material 3 Expressive slider that adjusts smoothly alongside clean color coding across individual menus in the Settings app.
Interestingly, beta testers report that this early build runs surprisingly stable. Still, some users noted their devices running slightly warmer than usual—a common quirk for preview software.
