Motorola wants to eliminate that friction by expanding its unified Qira AI assistant to a wider range of devices as part of its ongoing Android 17 software rollout.
Qira’s system combines Moto AI, Lenovo AI Now, Creator Zone and Learning Zone into one assistant. The overarching aim is simple: enable your devices to share memory and context so you can switch from one screen to another without losing your train of thought.
Staying in sync across phones, tablets, and PCs
The main appeal of Motorola Qira lies in its cross-device intelligence. When granted permission, Qira keeps track of saved notes, active project files, and personal preferences as you move through your day. If you start brainstorming an event on a supported Motorola phone, you can sit down at a Lenovo PC running Lenovo Qira and pull up those exact notes instantly without retyping a single line.
Beyond background memory, Qira packs several daily productivity tools. A quick command like “Catch me up” summarizes missed notifications after a workout, while the “Pay Attention” feature transcribes and recaps live meetings in real time. For quick actions, “Next Move” offers smart suggestions like setting travel reminders or drafting blog summaries, while built-in Workato integrations let Qira perform tasks directly inside third-party apps like email or calendar suites.
Multimodal inputs and creative extras
It isn’t all about work spreadsheets either. Users can interact with Qira using text, natural voice, or visual inputs like snapping a quick photo or video to ask urgent questions about their surroundings. On the creative side, tools like Creator Zone and Style Sync allow users to generate custom stickers, avatars, or device wallpapers simply by taking a picture of their outfit or a favorite pattern.
Accessing the assistant is straightforward across the board. Users can summon the system hands-free by saying “Hey Qira,” tapping on-screen entry points, or pressing a dedicated hardware AI key on supported devices.
Which devices get the upgrade?
Qira will roll out to select devices across the premium Signature, foldable Razr, and Edge families once they upgrade to Android 17. The underlying Android 17 update itself also delivers general user interface upgrades, including a refreshed Quick Settings layout and improved cross-platform Quick Sharing capabilities.
However, budget phone buyers might want to keep their expectations in check. While the popular Moto G line is scheduled to receive the core Android 17 operating system update, official communications suggest Motorola has no plans to bring the full Qira AI package to its budget tier.
