It seems like mid-range non-folding wide phones are also on the way. Well, at least according to a new report that surfaced. Two separate reports actually surfaced, one of which focuses on the mid-range aspect. So let’s talk about that one first.
One tipster says that OPPO is making a mid-range non-folding wide phone
Gadgetsdata, a tipster, said that OPPO is planning to release a mid-range wide non-folding phone. He did not use the term “mid-range”, but he did say that the phone could be called the ‘Reno X’. Reno is OPPO’s mid-range series.
That phone will feature a 6.35-inch 1.5K display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The aspect ratio will be either 16:9 or 16:10, based on what was said. The phone will have a metal frame.
MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 series chip will fuel the device, while a 200-megapixel main camera will also be included, and it will feature OIS. A 50-megapixel ultrawide camera is also tipped, and the same goes for a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto snapper.
On the flip side, a well-known tipster claims a ‘Pro’ model is coming from OPPO
Now, what’s interesting is that Digital Chat Station, a well-known tipster with an outstanding track record, shared some information regarding a wide non-folding phone from OPPO as well.
The thing is, he mentioned similar specs, but did not use the ‘Reno’ branding at all. In fact, he said that this device will likely be positioned as a ‘Pro’ model. So either the company is working on two wide non-folding devices for separate tiers, or one of the two tipsters is wrong.
In any case, Digital Chat Station also mentioned that a Dimensity chip will be used, and the main camera will be a 200-megapixel unit. He also noted that a 6.35-inch display will be used on the device.
Huawei managed to start a new trend with phones yet again. The Huawei Pura X View is selling extremely well in China, and other OEMs are taking notice. Many more non-folding wide phones are coming, it seems.
