Seems like Amazon is on the way to introducing major changes across its products and services. The tech giant had recently announced a new aviation antenna that could deliver speeds up to 1Gbps in-flight. And now, Amazon is giving its television range a new identity, renaming the Fire TV lineup as Ember TV.
Amazon Fire TV will now be known as Ember TV
Amazon has officially announced that it is rebranding the Fire TV lineup and giving it a new name: Ember TV. The existing televisions, including the Fire TV Omni QLED, 4-series, and 2-series, will now be sold under the Ember TV name. Buyers will soon see updated names across the lineup, such as Amazon Ember QLED and Amazon Ember 4-series. However, the change will only affect the branding. The hardware will remain the name with no major changes whatsoever.
The company has not outlined the exact reason behind the rebranding move. However, the move appears to be linked to a strategy change where the brand is simplifying its product lineup and giving it a clearer identity.
Amazon announces Ember Artline TV with a focus on design and features
The first product that launches under the new branding is the Ember Artline TV. The new television takes a slightly different approach from Amazon’s current TV lineup. It focuses on design as much as performance. It adds a new Art Mode that displays artworks on the screen when the TV is not in use. A similar feature can be found on the Samsung Frame as well. Amazon says the TV comes with over 2,000 artworks loaded. Further, it also gets a feature called “Match The Room,” which uses AI to suggest images that suit the space around the TV.
The new Ember Artline TV is expected to start shipping around May 7. The firm has already begun accepting pre-orders in select regions. As for the pricing, the 55-inch model is priced at $899, while the 65-inch version costs $1,099. Both variants offer a QLED panel, a matte screen to reduce reflections, and support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+. Last but not least, it runs on the updated Fire TV platform with Alexa+ support.
