Amazon has unveiled a new Fire TV Stick HD for this 2026, the company’s slimmest yet. The design of it, as per Amazon, is 30% thinner than the previous generation. The new streaming device comes with the revamped Fire TV OS and also has Alexa Plus built in. The biggest change in the new model is that it can be powered directly through your TV’s USB port.
Amazon Fire TV Stick HD doesn’t require a wall adapter
Amazon says the new design no longer requires a separate wall adapter. This should make it easier to carry while traveling. In case your TV doesn’t have a USB port, you can still power the new Fire TV Stick HD with a USB-C cable and a wall adapter.
Besides design, the new Fire TV Stick HD will also deliver noticeable speed improvements over the previous HD models. It’s 30% faster on average than the last-generation HD stick. This translates to the device turning on and opening the apps more quickly. For connectivity, the Fire TV Stick HD offers Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 options.
It will cost you $34.99
In the coming months, Amazon will add a new ‘Adaptive Display’ setting to the Fire TV Stick HD. This is an accessibility feature that will enlarge text, menus, and content while proportionally scaling content artwork. The tech giant says this creates a more balanced browsing experience. Additionally, customers will also have the option to choose from different sizes to customize their viewing experience.
With Alexa+, users can find new shows, learn about actors they see on screen, or easily control connected smart home devices. The Amazon Fire TV Stick HD costs $34.99. It will be available for preorder starting today (April 15th), with shipping set to begin on April 29th in the US, UK, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.
