We finally know when OnePlus’ new flagship will launch. OnePlus has set October 12 as the launch date for the OnePlus 16. Do note that this is the launch date for China.

It’s also worth noting that the device will not launch in the US and Europe. OnePlus made that decision a while back, as it decided not to push out new devices in those markets. The phone could reach some other global markets, though, like India, it hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Regarding the OnePlus 16 launch, the company said: “Delivering the strongest performance ever for performance enthusiasts, the fastest gaming experience for gamers, and a comprehensive flagship configuration inside and out for flagship users.”
This smartphone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip; in fact, it could be the ‘Extreme’ version of that processor. Its display will go up to 185Hz in terms of refresh rate. This phone will once again offer a great home for gamers.
It will come with an upgraded camera setup
The company also confirmed that a 200-megapixel main camera will be included on the phone, with a 1/1.4-inch sensor size. There will also be a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, with a 1/1.95-inch sensor size. The last camera will be a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit.
A bunch of other details leaked recently. A 9,000mAh battery will be a part of the package, along with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. Android 17 will come pre-installed, with ColorOS 17 on top of it.
The phone’s design also surfaced, as it seems like it will resemble its predecessor quite a bit. OnePlus decided not to make notable changes to its design. Well, one model will have notification lights on the back, though, it seems.
