Apple’s first foldable, the iPhone Duo, finally went up for pre-order this morning. But the ship dates have slipped quite considerably. Right now, we’re looking at an estimated arrival date of January 25, 2027. That’s three months from now.
It looks like very few people placed pre-orders for the October 23 launch date, as these dates started slipping almost immediately after pre-orders opened.

It is possible, and likely, that Apple will still have some stock in some stores on launch day. In fact, the screenshot above even says that some pickup availability will be available starting on October 24.
This isn’t surprising; we’ve seen pre-order ship dates slip quickly on Apple’s new products before, but it’s typically not this fast. We’re talking minutes after pre-orders go live. Which might be a new record even for Apple.
Is it epic demand, or did Apple make so few models?
It’s honestly likely a bit of both. This is Apple’s first foldable, seven years after Samsung launched theirs. iPhone users have been waiting a long time for this. So there’s likely been a ton of demand for this phone, and Apple probably hasn’t manufactured many iPhone Dues yet. Despite launching a month after the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.
Apple will likely ramp up production and could ship a lot of these units sooner. So if you did get a later ship date, don’t rush to cancel right away. Apple tends to overpromise on ship dates and almost always ships before the date you were given when you bought or pre-ordered a product.
The iPhone Duo looks pretty incredible, and it’s a foldable I truly can’t wait to get my hands on. But it looks like it’ll be another month for me, since my ship date for the iPhone Duo in Night Sky is December 1.
