Huawei’s Watch Fit line has always been the more affordable, fitness-focused option in the company’s wearable lineup. But based on a fresh leak, the Watch Fit 5 and Fit 5 Pro are shaping up to be a more serious upgrade than usual. The Huawei Watch Fit 5 specs have surfaced ahead of an April launch. From what we can tell, the Pro model in particular is getting a lot more attention this time around.
What the leaks say about the hardware
According to a report from WinFuture.de, both models share a 471mAh battery rated for up to 10 days in power-saving mode, seven days with typical use, and four days with always-on display enabled. They also reportedly share Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, built-in GPS, and IP6X dust and water resistance. The standard Watch Fit 5 carries a 1.82-inch AMOLED display with 480×408 resolution and boasts 2,500 nits peak brightness. It also weighs just 27 grams.Â
As for color options, the Huawei Watch Fit 5 leaked specs claim it will come in black, white, green/silver, and purple. The shell uses 100% recycled aluminum, which is a nice touch.
The Watch Fit 5 Pro is where things get noticeably different. Its display is bumped up to a 1.92-inch LTPO OLED display with 3,500 nits peak brightness and an 83% screen-to-body ratio. The body features the use of a titanium alloy bezel with 2.5D sapphire glass, and it weighs 31.6 grams. It also comes with a depth sensor, ECG support, and free-diving capability down to 40 meters. Those are features you’d normally expect on something from Garmin or a much pricier device.Â
Both models run Huawei’s TruSense health platform, which covers heart rate, body temperature, barometer, accelerometer, and magnetometer. The Pro adds offline color maps and automatic workout detection on top of that. Color options for the Pro are reportedly black, white, and orange.
Pricing and when it could launch
Assuming the leaks are accurate, the standard Watch Fit 5 starts at €199 (around $220 USD) and the Pro comes in at €299 (around $330 USD). It will also most likely launch this April. The company has already scheduled an event on April 20. That’s where the Pura series phone and Watch Buds 2 will launch. So it makes sense that the Watch Fit 5 and Fit 5 Pro will be announced alongside those devices.
