HONOR X80 Pro Max, which debuted in China recently, features a massive 11,000mAh battery. It is, by all means, quite massive for most users. It even surpasses the company’s Win series, which gets a 10,000mAh cell. Well, it doesn’t look like the company wants to stop there, as a new rumor coming out of Weibo claims that HONOR is working on a phone with a large 14,000mAh battery.
HONOR is reportedly working on a phone with a massive 14,000mAh battery
According to a reliable tipster, Digital Chat Station, HONOR is testing a new device with a massive 14,000mAh battery. While the post on Weibo doesn’t explicitly mention any names, reports on the web point to the HONOR brand. That said, we don’t know any specific model or series name at the moment. The leak notes that the device is in the NPI (New Product Introduction) stage, suggesting that it is still undergoing validation.
So, as good as it sounds, there’s a chance the company might drop the idea at any stage. But if it pans out, which does look possible considering the company’s focus on bigger batteries these days, it’ll be quite a feat and will definitely be winning some battery awards.
The battery push
That’s pretty much everything we have about the HONOR’s mystery 14,000mAh phone. This development comes after a recent rumor suggesting that HONOR is working on the Power3 device with a battery capacity between 11,000mAh and 12,000mAh. This led to speculations that HONOR has since upgraded the device with a larger 14,000mAh cell. But as said, it’s just a mere speculation at this moment.
For what it’s worth, it does look like HONOR is steadily pushing battery capacities across its smartphone lineup. We already have the Win series with 10,000mAh cells. Then there’s the HONOR X80 Pro Max with an even bigger 11,000mAh battery.
