Google‘s upcoming Made by Google event in New York is just around the corner, expected for Wednesday, August 12. Meanwhile, newly leaked marketing materials reveal that four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry is getting his own custom hardware option: a Stephen Curry special edition of the upcoming Google Pixel Watch 5.
The latest leak comes from MyMobiles. The report shows that Curry has co-designed a performance-focused strap for Google’s flagship wearable. It’s noteworthy that Curry will attend the launch event.
A custom water-repellent band built for workouts
The leak clarifies that the watch hardware itself is a standard silver 45mm LTE Pixel Watch 5. However, it comes bundled with an exclusive woven loop band. Styled in stone grey and taupe with bright orange borders and a striped accent along the tail, the strap includes a soft brown label bearing “STEPHEN CURRY” alongside his signature hashtag, “#LockIn.”
The main technical draw of the Curry edition is a special surface treatment designed to make the fabric band water-repellent. While the standard Pixel Watch 5 carries a 5 ATM and IP68 rating, its stock straps are not water-resistant. This special coating aims to fill that gap, making it easier to sweat through tough workouts without soaking the fabric.
However, the fine print on Google’s marketing slide includes a surprisingly blunt disclaimer regarding the band’s longevity. Google explicitly notes that the water-repellent coating is temporary and will naturally degrade or completely wear off over time through normal use and environmental exposure. The company adds that it will not be liable for moisture damage once the coating wears down.
Pricing, availability, and Google’s ongoing Curry partnership
The Google Pixel Watch 5 Stephen Curry edition will be available in a single configuration: 45mm LTE priced at €579.99 (Europe). That represents a €30.99 premium over the expected €549 price tag of the standard 45mm LTE version. Footnotes on the marketing slide indicate that supply will be limited and the special edition will not be available in all regions. Additionally, press renders show the watch face set to August 20, hinting at a potential retail release date.
This isn’t the first time Google and Curry have collaborated on fitness gear. Back in May 2026, the duo launched the Fitbit Air Special Edition tracker for $129.99, which featured a similar game-day orange accent, the “#LockIn” branding, and a sweat-resistant loop band. The upcoming Pixel Watch 5 edition brings that same design aesthetic over to Google’s flagship smartwatch line.
