Google has fixed a bug on YouTube that would make comments and other important information disappear. The bug mainly affected iPad users and was triggered after they exited full-screen mode. The issue affected video titles, descriptions, channel details, and comments, leaving a space beneath the player. Users reported the bug almost a week ago, and now the tech giant has finally released a patch.

As said earlier, users began reporting the issue roughly a week before Google confirmed the fix. iPad users noticed that leaving full-screen mode on YouTube caused the information normally displayed below the video to disappear. Key details such as the video title, description, channel details, and comments would go missing. Basically, users would be left with a blank area underneath the video player.
The issue was frustrating enough, and users started sharing their anger on online forums. Making matters worse, there was no simple troubleshooting step to fix the problem. Restarting the iPad or reinstalling the YouTube app made no difference, as the issue was related to the platform itself. The persistence of the issue eventually led Google to acknowledge the bug and start an investigation into it.

Now, Google has officially confirmed that it has patched the problem. To get rid of the issue, iPad users must update their YouTube app to the latest version, i.e., 21.33.6.
Apart from the bug fix, the update also includes a separate change for Android users. Double-tapping to skip forward or backward in a video now brings up a scrub bar alongside the elapsed time. The following change is unrelated to the iPad problem. For affected iPad owners, however, the more important development is that the YouTube bug has finally been resolved.
