Google has officially revealed the date when consumers will be able to place pre-order for their new Googlebook laptops, and that date is right around the corner. Google officially unveiled Googlebooks back on May 19, during its annual Google I/O event. A lot of detail was given about the new laptops, but none of that detail included anything regarding a launch date, price, pre-order timing, or anything of the sort.
Among the things Google did talk about with its new laptops, it shared details on the return of the glowbar, something which debuted on its Chromebook Pixel when the very first model was announced many years ago. It also confirmed Googlebook laptops coming from a variety of retail partners, including HP, ASUS, Lenovo, Dell, and Acer. There’s still no confirmation on price, but there is now a confirmation on the pre-order date.
The Googlebook pre-order date is set for September 21
Google has yet to share all the details surrounding these new laptops, but at least now consumers know when they need the money ready. As per an official Googlebook website, Google says you’ll be able to place pre-orders for the laptops starting on September 21.
No pre-order button is yet live, but there is a button to be notified about the pre-orders. As for exact timing, Android Central is reporting that pre-orders will be live at 9AM Eastern Standard Time, so 6AM Pacific Standard Time if you live on the West Coast.
The website for the Googlebooks doesn’t mention the time specifically, but it’s reported that Google has begun emailing users about the pre-order date and time. No mention has been made about which Googlebook laptops will actually be available for pre-order when things go live next week, but there have already been leaks of the Lenovo model, and there’s been a leak for the ASUS model as well. Acer has also confirmed a Googlebook coming soon.
