The redesign to Google Gemini on Samsung Galaxy Watch smartwatches has started to make its way out to users, replacing the once-subtle, glowing line at the bottom of the screen with a glow that takes over half of the UI. This isn’t the first time this design for Gemini has shown up on watches. It was first unveiled by Google during its Google I/O 2026 conference earlier this year. It was also pushed out to Pixel Watch devices earlier this week.
This is simply a design change to the glow effect and doesn’t change any of the functionality of Gemini at all. The glow effect is the same shade of blue that used to be used for the small line that hugged the bottom edge of the UI. There is another subtle difference with the redesign as well. In addition to the larger glow effect spanning the bottom half of the screen, there are also a series of tiny dots that populate the right half of the glow effect.
The Gemini redesign for Galaxy Watch devices is rolling out in stages
As SamMobile reports, the Gemini redesign is being pushed out to Galaxy Watch devices, but there is no mention of which devices specifically. Much like with the Pixel Watch models, it’ll be arriving for compatible Galaxy Watch models. SamMobile also reports that this could be showing up for any watch that’s running on One UI 8.0 Watch, as it showed up for them on the Galaxy Watch Ultra. For reference, the new Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 are running on One UI 9.0 Watch.
Users can check to see if the new UI has hit their watch already simply by opening the Gemini app on the watch. If the redesigned UI isn’t showing up yet, then the next thing to do would be to check and see if Gemini has an update available in the Play Store app.
