Gemini Live is getting a power-up with the integration of Gemini Spark, which Google has officially announced on August 26. The Gemini Spark integration will introduce several improvements to the voice-activated interactions that Gemini Live is already famous for, and a big part of the reason why Google is pushing this change is because it says that speaking a prompt out loud is “often the quickest way to get help with Gemini.”
It also confirms that 63% of Gemini users talk to Gemini out loud as opposed to typing out their prompts or requests. With more than half of users speaking to Gemini instead of typing, Google wanted to ensure that Gemini Live was as powerful as it could be. With these integrations, Google says that users can “let Gemini do the heavy lifting.”
Gemini Live with Gemini Spark can be a huge boost to your productivity
The arrival of Gemini Spark in Gemini Live is all about productivity. Google highlights several key changes that can help make things a little more organized during your day or even your entire week. For example, Gemini Live powered by Gemini Spark can help you plan a weekly meal plan for you and anyone who lives in the household. You can ask Gemini to create specific meal plan menus (Google’s example is a high-protein vegetarian menu), and then it can even plan out a grocery list based on recipes you have saved in Google Docs.
It can also help you run through your Daily Brief. You can ask Gemini “what’s my Daily Brief?” or “What should I care about today?” and it’ll run through your emails and look at calendar schedules and even if you have packages on the way.
If you hate reading through emails, you can have Gemini summarize them for you by asking it if there are new emails or if there are any important emails about specific topics. Google says it can also scan chats to look for things you talked about, such as restaurants you may have visited and talked about with a friend. Google is rolling out these changes starting today. Google rolled out Gemini Live to smart speakers back in July, but it doesn’t say whether or not this integration will work with the speakers.
