Google is working on several new improvements for Gemini Daily Brief. The company has already been making it easier to customize the feature. It could soon bring it to the At a Glance widget on Pixel phones. But that’s not all, as Google is reportedly also working on a new way to let Gemini read your Daily Brief aloud.
Gemini’s Daily Brief could soon be read aloud with a new one-tap shortcut
Folks over at Android Authority, while digging through the latest version of the Google app v17.54.10, have spotted a new feature in Gemini Daily Brief. This will make it easier to listen to a Daily Brief. The report notes the feature appears as a floating button labeled “Talk through your brief.” Tapping the button reportedly opens the Gemini Live interface and starts reading the briefing aloud.
The audio part of the experience is apparently already working as expected, but Google still seems to be working on the UI. For now, the interface only displays “Here’s what’s on your plate today,” even though the audio works as expected. Tapping the button multiple times just shows different introductory lines for the briefing each time. This suggests that the feature is still in progress.
Still a work in progress
While that aside, you should know that audio briefings aren’t new. Gemini Live can already read them aloud. This new addition, however, should make the feature more visible and easier to access. It’ll allow users to listen to their daily updates without first opening Gemini Live and asking it to read the briefing.
That said, this is still a work in progress, as Google still needs to get the UI working properly. It’s not clear when the company will roll this out widely to users. We will make sure to update when that happens, though.
