HONOR’s wide foldable is coming, and a new report claims it will feature Qualcomm’s next-gen flagship processor. We’re talking about the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, and the information comes from SmartPikachu, a tipster.
HONOR’s wide foldable is coming to compete with the Galaxy Z Fold 8, and it will have a more powerful chip
If there’s truth to this, HONOR’s first wide foldable could become the first foldable smartphone to feature a 2nm processor. That chip should not only be more powerful, but also more power-efficient at the same time.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro will become official next month, at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit 2026. The chip is tipped to use a 2+3+3 Oryon core structure. It scored 4.83 million on AnTuTu in a recently leaked benchmark.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro is also expected to use the Adreno 850 GPU, while it will also support LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.0 flash storage. So next-gen RAM and storage will be supported.
When it comes to HONOR’s wide foldable, we don’t have all that much information. We do know that it will compete directly with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the upcoming iPhone Ultra from Apple.
It is expected to offer a similar form factor to the Galaxy Z Fold 8
We are expecting to see a similar form factor to that of the Galaxy Z Fold 8. There’s a good chance HONOR will offer more powerful camera hardware on its wide foldable, though, along with more powerful internals.
We’re still not sure if the company’s upcoming wide foldable will launch globally, though. It could be exclusive to China, but that’s not as likely. The launch timeframe is also a mystery at the moment, but it will arrive after Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit 2026. It is expected to drop in 2026, but we don’t know exactly when.
