It seems like the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is not the only new foldable from Samsung that is in high demand. A new report from Korea reveals that the other two foldables are also very popular.
A recent report said that the company’s new foldables are actually keeping up with the Galaxy S26 series in terms of pre-orders, which is shocking. Well, this new report shares some new information.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is selling a lot better than the Fold 7 and is causing supply issues for Samsung
According to Business Post, pre-order inventory for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is in short supply across all storage variants and color options in the company’s homeland, South Korea. Customers who place pre-orders now are expected to receive the device starting August 28, instead of August 7.
Something similar is actually true for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip 8. The 1TB storage variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to start shipping on August 28. Deliveries of the Galaxy Z Flip 8, on the other hand, have slipped to mid-August (August 11 or August 18), depending on the color option customers choose.
Furthermore, the report claims that the company’s offline retail channels are also experiencing backlogs when it comes to pre-orders. That goes for all three phones. Estimated fulfillment times have been pushed back into mid-September.
Demand exceeded Samsung’s expectations
A Samsung official did have something to say about all this. It is said that the delivery delays are happening as demand is exceeding Samsung’s expectations. Considering how popular the devices ended up being, that’s not surprising.
Based on the shared information, Samsung prepared around 40% more pre-order inventory for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. That is seemingly not helping the company keep up with demand.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 pre-orders are estimated to be three times higher than those of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. They have also reached around 80% of the pre-order volume recorded by the Galaxy S26, the report states.
