The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 ended up being very popular, and it seems like it managed to attract a lot of iPhone users as well. Before we get to that, it’s worth noting that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 managed to crush all sorts of records.
It managed to outsell every other Galaxy Z Fold series globally during its pre-order period, and in Korea, it even outsold every Galaxy S series, and thus became the most sought-after launch in the company’s history.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is pulling iPhone users to Android at a record rate
Having said that, not only Android users are immensely interested in the Galaxy Z Fold 8. Based on a report from Newsis, the number of iPhone users switching to the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 series compared to last year has doubled.
The report claims that most of the switchers are in their teens, 20s, and 30s. Considering that Samsung previously had issues attracting young users, as they preferred iPhones, this is a huge win for the company.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 has been the most popular new smartphone in the company’s foldable lineup, by far. Its fresh design with a small and wide cover display and a truly wide main display is refreshing.
Apple’s first foldable is right around the corner, and it’s also a wide foldable
What’s interesting is that the iPhone Ultra, Apple’s first foldable, is right around the corner, and yet quite a few iPhone users decided to jump ship and switch to Android to grab the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
Google and Samsung even jointly developed a tool that helps iPhone users switch. The Smart Switch feature on Galaxy phones, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8, makes sure iPhone users can transfer their call logs, eSIMs, messages, passwords, and passkeys wirelessly.
