Even as it continues working on the next major update, One UI 9, Samsung seems to be focusing on its monthly updates as well. As we wait for the South Korean tech giant to officially reveal more details about the next UI upgrade, if you’re an owner of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 in the US, the June 2026 security update is coming your way. This makes the foldables more secure than before. It addresses some key vulnerabilities found in the previous version of the OS.
Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6 are receiving the June 2026 security update in the US
The June 2026 security update, as said, is now available in the US after rolling out in South Korea last week. So if you’re from the region, be sure to check for the update. You can do so by heading to Settings, scrolling down to Software update, and then Download and install. The update seems to be rolling out for those on the Verizon network, but it should hit carrier-unlocked models as well.
The June 2026 security update for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 carries the firmware version F956USQS4DZF2. Meanwhile, that for the Z Flip 6 is F741USQS4DZF2. The download sizes may vary. Since it’s rolling out in phases, the update might take a couple of days (or slightly more) before it reaches every unit.
All about security fixes
The June 2026 security update brings fixes for 45 security vulnerabilities. Among them, 33 are from Google, and 12 are from Samsung. 5 of the fixes are marked as ‘critical’, meaning you’ll benefit from installing this update when it hits your unit. It doesn’t look like the update brings any extra improvements or features, just the security fixes.
It’s also safe to assume that other Samsung Galaxy devices will also be getting the June 2026 update soon. So, if you haven’t received the update yet, be patient; it should be arriving shortly. For those who did get it, be sure to connect to a stable Wi-Fi network. Also, have the battery charged at least 30%.
