Samsung is rolling out the first software update to the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 (review). It’s the latest flagship wearable that debuted alongside new foldables back in July. This brings the August 2026 security patch that includes fixes to 56 security issues present in the previous version of the OS, i.e., the version the wearable originally shipped with.
Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is receiving the August 2026 security update
The company pushed the update first to the Watch Ultra 2 variant that sells in the US with the model number SM-L715U. The update carries the firmware version L715USQS1AZH4. We expect Samsung to roll out the August 2026 security update in other regions in the days to come.Â
Before proceeding with the update, ensure you connect your device to a stable Wi-Fi network and that the battery is sufficiently charged or connected to a charger. You can check for the update by heading to the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone and going to Watch settings > Watch software update > Download and install.
Fixes 56 security issues
Samsung seems to have also pushed the update for the LTE models of the Galaxy Watch 9 series as well. DroidLife reports it brings the firmware version L355USQS1AZH4 for the 44mm variant and L345USQS1AZH4 for the 40mm. So if you own any of these Samsung smartwatches, you should see an update. If not, give it a couple of days. It’ll eventually arrive.
Samsung’s August 2026 security update brings fixes for 56 security issues. Among them, 38 are Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) disclosed by Google and 18 are fixes for Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVEs). Eight fixes from Google are marked critical-priority, and 30 are high-priority. Samsung’s fixes include two high-priority fixes, 14 moderate-priority fixes, and two fixes with undisclosed priority levels.
It’s always a good idea to install these updates to keep your devices protected.
