According to a new report, the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra could end up including a larger battery… finally. The information comes from a tipster known as ‘kro’, who published it on X.
Samsung tested a 7,000mAh battery, but that’s not what the final variant will offer
The tipster says that Samsung had Galaxy S27 Ultra test units with the S Pen silo removed, in which the company pushed the battery capacity all the way to 7,000mAh. None of those will be the final one, though.
The final Galaxy S27 Ultra unit will have an S Pen silo, as we exclusively showed you yesterday. Having said that, the tipster notes that there are currently five prototype variants regarding the battery, and the current development target is somewhere between 5,700mAh and 6,000mAh.
That may not seem a lot compared to 7,000mAh+ phones that are out on the market, but it would be a huge improvement for Samsung. As a reminder, the Galaxy S26 Ultra includes a 5,000mAh battery. That’s a major difference.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra will get a 700-1,000mAh battery upgrade
A 700mAh-1,000mAh boost is not something to scoff at. The Galaxy S26 Ultra didn’t have bad battery life either, but this boost should bring the phone to a whole new level.
The Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra will have a new camera design on the back, with a large camera plateau replacing the previous setup. That will prevent the phone from wobbling on the table, and it will also allow for more MagSafe accessories to be supported due to freed space on the side.
This handset will become official in the first quarter of next year. It will most likely launch in January or February. This time around, three phones will join it: the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, and Galaxy S27 Pro.
The Samsung Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ are said to keep the design from their predecessors, while the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra will get new camera designs.
