Many love expansive panels for media consumption, and the sales of the Ultra phones prove it. However, wrestling with a massive device during daily errands can quickly feel cumbersome. Samsung appears ready to address this segment of the market directly. Plus, it would do it on a device with practically no compromises compared to its more advanced models. According to a new report, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 Pro flagship phone will arrive with a compact display size of 6.47 inches.
Galaxy S27 Pro: Compact 6.47-inch display size that seeks the ideal flagship phone footprint
South Korean outlet ETNews reports, citing supply chain sources, that Samsung has finalized the screen size for the Galaxy S27 Pro. If you’re unaware of the rumors, Samsung will introduce this new model in the S27 series to fill the gap between the “Plus” and “Ultra” models. According to the leak, Samsung will use a 6.47-inch OLED panel in the Galaxy S27 Pro, a completely new diagonal size for the brand’s premium tier.
In terms of footprint, this positions the device right between the compact base model and the larger Plus variant. However, specs-wise, leaks suggest that the S27 Pro will be closer to the Ultra model than its other siblings. This report is in line with another recent one that hinted at a display of around 6.4 inches for the handset.
Squeezing top-tier specifications into a portable body
Usually, opting for a non-Ultra Galaxy S model has meant accepting notable downgrades in sections such as camera, display, and even raw power in some regions. The upcoming Pro model looks to tear down that commitment. Industry insiders suggest the device will share its primary core infrastructure with the top-tier Galaxy S27 Ultra. That is, the device could boast of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 Pro for Galaxy.
Furthermore, the smartphone will adopt advanced hardware solutions previously restricted to the absolute highest price tier. This includes Samsung’s proprietary Privacy Display technology, which limits viewing angles to protect sensitive data from neighboring eyes. The camera configuration is expected to achieve full parity with the Ultra as well. More specifically, it could boast of a 200MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera equipped with a 5x optical zoom mechanism.
Streamlining the flagship lineup
The relatively compact form factor of the Galaxy S27 Pro forces one unavoidable omission: the S Pen. This particular model will not include it. Therefore, the Ultra variant, with its massive screen, remains the model of choice for die-hard fans of Samsung’s S Pen and its special productivity features. Another aspect where there may possibly be differences is the battery capacity, although there are still no more specific details in this regard.
