Samsung has quietly unveiled the new Galaxy Book 6 Edge. The company is introducing—without much fanfare—a new Windows 11 ARM laptop focused on portability and artificial intelligence.
The Galaxy Book 6 Edge keeps the clean look of its predecessor but brings notable physical refinements. Samsung managed to reduce the thickness of the body to just 12.3mm, down from the 15.5mm profile of the previous generation. This makes it one of the most portable large-screen laptops available, pushing it further into ultrabook territory.
The Galaxy Book 6 Edge is powered by the Snapdragon X2 Elite chip
The real story lies inside the chassis. While other models in the Book 6 series rely on Intel chips, the Edge version uses the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite. This translates not only into better battery life but also into a massive AI-processing jump. The laptop features a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) capable of 80 TOPS. It nearly doubles the 45 TOPS found in the Galaxy Book 5 Edge.
The tech giant is introducing several “Galaxy AI” features designed for daily productivity. For instance, Quick Search lets you use natural language queries to find files or change settings. The AI Select tool makes it easy for users to choose and crop parts of images. Plus, Galaxy AI can make contextual suggestions, like opening translation tools after copying text.
More key specs of the Galaxy Book 6 Edge
Among its specs, the Samsung Galaxy Book 6 Edge has a 16-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. To improve usability in different lighting conditions, Samsung included a peak brightness of 500 nits and Corning Gorilla Glass DX protection to reduce reflections. For those who work on the go, the battery provides up to 22 hours of video playback. When you need a quick boost, the 65W fast charger can take the battery from 0% to 40% in about 30 minutes.
The Galaxy Book 6 Edge will hit shelves in early May, initially in France and likely other European markets. It will be available in a “Glacier Gray” finish with storage options of 512GB or 1TB. Sadly, the official blog post does not offer specific details on RAM variants. Global pricing also remains unconfirmed, but early reports suggest a starting European price of approximately €2,199.
