Computex 2026 is about to kick off in the next few days, and some companies, like G.Skill and Cooler Master, are getting a jump start by announcing the launch of actively cooled RAM kits. In a world of excess, exorbitantly high prices on all major electronic components that make up a PC, and things like the previously really affordable Steam Deck getting a $300 price increase, the one thing the majority of PC gamers are most certainly asking for is RAM that will cost them more money and not less.
Unveiled a few days ahead of the official Computex 2026 start date of June 2, G.Skill and Cooler Master have revealed DDR5 RAM kits that are officially called the MasterDimm. Neither company has confirmed official pricing. But let’s not kid ourselves here. With regular RAM kits that aren’t actively cooled being in the several hundreds of dollars range, there’s absolutely no way this will not be more expensive than what’s currently available.
G.Skill says the actively cooled RAM will support Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO profiles
If you’re someone who is attracted to the idea of actively cooled RAM, then you’ll be happy to know that the MasterDimm will support both the Intel XMP 3.0 and the AMD EXPO profiles. Neither G.Skill or Cooler Master appear to mention specifics when it comes to specs or performance details.
However, it’s very clear that this RAM is not intended for the majority of gamers. G.Skill and Cooler Master seem to be targeting the upper echelon of big spenders. In G.Skill’s official tweet announcing the new kits, it states that “MasterDimm is built for next-generation systems that push higher frequencies, lower latencies, and sustained stability under demanding workloads. Because next-level performance deserves next-level cooling.”
While nothing there explicitly states that these are targeted at top-tier PC buyers that want bleeding edge specs and are willing to pay for it, it most certainly reads that way. The question for some will be whether or not this is really necessary. For others it might be whether or not this will be set at a reasonable price (probably not). Whichever way you lean, it’s likely that the majority of you probably just want to spend reasonable amounts of money on PC components. There’s a good chance these RAM kits won’t fit into that scenario.
