The OnePlus 16 is coming later this year, and its final camera specs have seemingly just surfaced. The information comes from Digital Chat Station, one of the best and most accurate tipsters around.
Final OnePlus 16 camera specs just surfaced
We’ve seen quite a few leaks regarding the OnePlus 16 camera setup over time. This one is rather important, though. Previous leaks were conflicting, but this is the final setup OnePlus will use.
So, there will be three cameras on the back, as expected. The main camera will be a 200-megapixel unit with a 1/1.4-inch sensor size. A 50-megapixel ultrawide camera will also be used, along with a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (1/1.95-inch sensor size, 3x optical zoom). Even the front camera will see a boost with a 50-megapixel AF unit.
As you can see, OnePlus will be upgrading all three cameras compared to the OnePlus 15. These are considerable upgrades as well, so the fact that this phone will not be available globally stings even more.
You probably already know that OnePlus confirmed that it will not be pushing out new devices in the US or Europe anymore. While the OnePlus 16 may still reach India, it will not be available to many of you.
All three cameras are getting notable upgrades
This will irk quite a few people, as one of the main complaints when it comes to the OnePlus 15 was its camera setup. All three cameras that the phone will feature will be newer and include larger sensors.
As a reminder, the OnePlus 15 shipped with a 50-megapixel 1/1.56-inch main camera, a 50-megapixel 1/2.88-inch ultrawide unit, and a 50-megapixel 1/2.76-inch periscope telephoto camera.
Those were all rather small sensors compared to what the OnePlus 16 will offer. The phone is expected to arrive in October, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
