Come next year, Samsung is expected to launch their next-gen chipset, the Exynos 2700. So the question is, how big of an improvement can we expect to see from it? According to the Exynos 2700 Geekbench 6 scores, it looks like it will be quite a step up from its predecessor.
Exynos 2700 Geekbench 6 results
According to a post on X by @kro_roe, they claim the Exynos 2700 is consistently scoring 3,900 on single-core on Geekbench 6. For context, the Exynos 2600 scored between 3,100 and 3,450. This means the Exynos 2700 is actually quite a big leap over the Exynos 2600, assuming the results are accurate.
However, there is potential the final figures could be higher. This is because for starters, the Exynos 2700 isn’t out or finalized yet. When the Exynos 2600 was spotted on benchmarks, the early prototype actually underperformed at 2,155 for single-core. So like we said, maybe the finalized version of the Exynos 2700 could actually be more powerful than we thought.
That being said, benchmarks only tell one side of the story. They typically measure how well a device performs in a short burst, not always sustained loads. So in reality, it’s more about showing the potential of a chipset. It’s still useful to see the improvements in performance, but just remember it’s not the whole picture.
What can we look forward to?
While Samsung hasn’t officially announced the Exynos 2700, we’ve come across various leaks and rumors. This includes how the Exynos 2700 will switch to a dual prime core CPU design with the C2 Ultra cores. It is also rumored to sport eight C2 Pro cores along with support for LPDDR6 memory.
However, the LPDDR6 memory support might be a bit pointless right now. Memory prices are through the roof, especially newer ones. This means that even though the chip might support LPDDR6, Samsung might not take advantage of it in order to keep its costs down. The company already recently raised the prices of its existing phones. Lastly, the leaks also claim the Exynos 2700 will come with the Xclipse 970 GPU.
