Acer announced various devices at IFA, including some laptops and tablets, amongst others. The one that caught our eye is the Acer Vero 16. The 2025 version of this tablet had a chassis made primarily of recycled post-consumer plastic waste and oyster shells. Thanks to that, it attracted a lot of attention. That laptop was a sight to behold. Well, Acer is now back with a new generation of the Vero 16, which received one of our IFA 2026 awards.
The new Acer Vero 16 is easily repairable
This new model is arguably more interesting, as it has more going for it. The new Acer Vero 16 is more repairable, as it’s quite easy to swap out or upgrade parts. Some parts of the device’s chassis are removable, including the bottom cover, hinge, and I/O port covers. Thanks to that, you can easily access the device’s internals and replace or repair them. In case the battery goes bad, you can easily replace it; the same goes for the SSD.
To make this thing even more appealing, Acer designed it to support processor upgrades for the next two generations. Not all of you will be able to or want to self-repair a laptop, even when it comes to replacing batteries, but the point is that you can easily do that. Moreover, if you do take it into a repair shop, they will be able to do it easily. Acer is so committed to this that it even placed a repair guide on the chassis itself, giving you a visual representation of how to do simple stuff.
It comes in several different options
The new Acer Vero 16, the fourth-gen model, by the way, comes in 2K (1920 x 1200) and 2.8K (2880 x 1800) configurations. The 2K model will also support an optional touchscreen. More than one chip model will also be available, as the power will go up to an Intel Core Ultra X9 388H with integrated Intel Arc B390 graphics, up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 512GB of storage.
In case you’re wondering about the price and release date, that’s the information that we still don’t have. One thing is for sure, though: this is one of the most interesting laptops from Acer we’ve seen in a long time.
