Four cylinders may not seem like a lot on paper when it comes to making an exciting sports car, but time and time again, multiple brands have shown that even a small number of cylinders or modest engine displacement can go a long way toward producing a platform that offers driving thrills and excitement that vehicles with larger engines struggle to match. For instance, in some ways, a Toyota GR86 can prove to be just as fun to drive as its bigger-engined Toyota GR Supra sibling, despite using fewer cylinders and a smaller-displacement engine.
