The K5 may be a new nameplate within the Kia product lineup, but four-door sedans have been a long-term staple of the Korean brand since its early days. In its native home market, the K5 has always been the model name for the brand’s midsize sedan, more commonly known in the United States as the Kia Optima, alongside other model names that include the Kia Magentis and Lotze in other markets abroad.
