You could get up to $95 for Apple’s failed Apple Intelligence makeover of Siri a couple of years ago. The bad news is, you won’t be getting that money anytime soon.
Back in 2024, Apple introduced its own AI features, including a rework of Siri that was supposed to ship later that year. But it kept getting delayed and delayed, until Apple decided to redo Siri entirely with help from Google. This rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, because Apple sold the iPhone 16 series on software promises that never came. So, a class action lawsuit was created and approved last month.
Now, according to a new court document, the final approval hearing is scheduled for February 24, 2027. That is about 7 months earlier than the original date. But this also means that payments from this class action lawsuit won’t be coming anytime soon.
Once the court approves the settlement at that hearing, payments typically take a few months to reach consumers. So we’re looking at another year or so before you get your cash.
Eligible customers could receive anywhere from $25 to $95
Back in May, Apple reached a $250 million settlement in this matter, while admitting to no wrongdoing. The agreement says that qualified customers will receive anywhere from $25 to $95; that amount could change depending on the number of claims and other factors.
To qualify for this payout, you would have needed to purchase an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16e, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, or iPhone 16 Pro Max between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025, which is going to be a huge number of customers.
As always with class action lawsuits, don’t count on this money arriving, since it won’t be divided until the lawyers get their cut. So it could be a bit.
