Counterpoint Research has just published a new report, in which it details the top 10 best-selling smartphones of Q4 2025. Unsurprisingly, Apple’s iPhones are dominating that list.
Apple’s iPhones dominate Q4 2025 smartphone sales
Half of the list is taken by iPhones, so 5 out of 10 spots. In Fact, the first four spots are taken by iPhones, and the eighth. Let’s take things one step at a time, though, and start from the top.
The very first one on the list is the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and it’s followed by the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro. The fourth phone on the list is the iPhone 16, while the fifth place is taken by the Galaxy A56.
The Samsung Galaxy A36 sits in sixth place, and it’s followed by the Galaxy A07. The Apple iPhone 16e took eighth place, while the Redmi A5 and the base Galaxy A25 close out the top 10 list.
So, Apple’s iPhones took 5 spots, while Samsung’s Galaxy phones secured 4 spots. Xiaomi’s Redmi A5 handset managed to squeeze in, though, and break the duality of the list itself.
These 10 phones contributed 23% of global sales in Q4 2025
Counterpoint Research noted that these 10 smartphones contributed 23% of global sales for the fourth quarter of last year. The iPhone 17 Pro Max alone accounted for 5% of overall sales.
Apple’s iPhones usually dominate these lists, with Samsung and Xiaomi tagging along as well. What’s interesting is that Apple’s and Samsung’s phones took all 10 spots in Q3 2025, Xiaomi was not a part of the conversation.
To some of you, it may be surprising that the iPhone 17 Pro Max sits above the iPhone 17 on this list, considering the popularity of the iPhone 17, but the Pro Max model is always immensely popular. Who knows, though, things could change moving forward.
