Apple’s first foldable smartphone is officially available for pre-order following its reveal last month. The flagship iPhone Duo goes on sale starting at $1,999 across four storage configurations and two color finishes, with initial shipments arriving next week on October 23.
Pricing tiers and storage configurations
Pre-orders opened early this morning through Apple’s website and retail app. Apple is offering the foldable device in Star White and Night Sky finishes alongside four distinct storage options.
The entry-level model with 256GB of storage starts at $1,999, while doubling that capacity to 512GB brings the price to $2,199. Users wanting maximum storage can opt for the 1TB model at $2,599 or the 2TB version for $3,199. Major wireless carriers are also rolling out trade-in promotions that can shave up to $1,200 off those retail prices.
Dual displays and flagship hardware specs
Apple’s first iPhone Duo features a 5.4-inch outer cover screen that unfolds into a large 7.6-inch inner OLED display. Under the hood, the phone relies on Apple’s A20 Pro processor to drive heavy everyday tasks. The rear casing houses a dual 48MP main and ultrawide camera array, while a Center Stage camera sits on the front exterior alongside an under-display FaceTime lens on the inner screen.
On the software front, iOS includes custom optimizations built specifically for the dual-screen hardware. Features like Split View allow users to run two apps side by side, while the interface automatically reorients itself as the hinge opens or flips over.
The handset also introduces a flexible implementation of StandBy mode, working on both the inner and outer displays even when the phone is not actively charging. That allows the folded device to serve as a tabletop photo frame, widget hub, or bedside clock. Given the high anticipation, buyers aiming for launch-day delivery will want to secure their orders quickly before shipping dates push deeper into the season.
