Apple officially launched the new iPhone 18 Pro today. If you are already planning an upgrade, finding ways to soften the blow to your wallet is probably top of mind. While the new phone brings impressive upgrades under the hood, jumping straight to a flagship tier is always a big investment.
The good news is that Apple has already detailed its primary financing options and trade-in incentives.
The Apple Upgrade program and monthly payments
If you prefer spreading out the cost instead of paying $1,199 upfront for the baseline 256GB model, Apple is offering the iPhone 18 Pro through the Apple Upgrade program in partnership with Klarna.
This option allows you to spread your purchase out into affordable monthly payments starting at 34.99/month for 24 months. If you plan to grab a higher storage capacity—like the 512GB, 1TB, or massive 2TB tier—your monthly payment adjusts accordingly. This makes it easier to lock in the space you actually need without paying the full sticker price on day one.
Massive trade-in savings and launch schedule
The biggest potential savings come directly from trade-ins. Apple announced trade-in promotions that can knock up to $1,200 off the price of the iPhone 18 Pro. The credit you get depends on what model you are trading in and what condition it is in. If you have a recent model to trade, that discount can bring your monthly payments down to practically nothing.
Pre-orders officially open on Saturday, September 12, giving you a few days to evaluate your old device’s trade-in value before placing your order. Full retail store sales and first shipments begin a week later on September 18.
What you are getting for your money
Beyond the financing perks, the iPhone 18 Pro packs a ton of value into its compact frame. You get an ultra-pocketable 6.3-inch display, Apple’s cutting-edge 2nm A20 Pro processor, and 12GB of RAM. The back housing features a triple 48-megapixel camera array led by a main lens with variable aperture, paired with a bigger battery that delivers noticeably better endurance throughout the day.
