America’s best foldable phone is about to launch on Verizon’s network. We’re talking about the Motorola Razr Fold.
This phone was announced back in April, and at the time Motorola said it would launch on T-Mobile and then added Verizon “in the coming months.” Well, the phone has now finally cleared the FCC with mmWave 5G support, which means its launch on Verizon is imminent.
The Razr Fold is one of the few book-style foldables available in the US. And right now, it is the best option available, thanks to its large battery, best-in-class cameras, and brightest displays. Now it’ll finally be available on America’s largest wireless carrier, which should help improve sales.
Motorola first started teasing the Razr Fold at CES
Motorola first showed off the Razr Fold at CES in January, followed by another showing at MWC in March, before announcing it in April with the rest of its Razr lineup. So this is one that Motorola had been teasing for a while.
The Razr Fold is a very impressive foldable, though I can’t help but wonder if it was supposed to be priced lower than it is, but the RAM crisis got in the way. As it stands, it’s only $100 cheaper than the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold and Galaxy Z Fold 8. But in my review of the Razr Fold, I mentioned that “Samsung should be worried,” and it’s because the Razr Fold is really that good. Motorola addressed many of the issues I had with Samsung’s foldables.
Sure, Motorola opted for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 instead of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, but that was a good choice. That allowed Motorola to keep the price down while also offering superb battery life and incredible performance. With the cooler temperatures being the cherry on top.
